Lindsey Jenkins, Toddler Teacher Room 3
This is Lindsey's first year teaching at YLUMCPS. She recently graduated from Hope International University with a Bachelors degree in Liberal Arts. She is currently studying Psychology at Azusa Pacific University. Lindsey has worked at Preschools and at daycare centers in the past and has always had a passion for working with children. Lindsey is getting married in October of this year. She enjoys spending time with her rescue dog and teaching him new tricks.
Sarah Miles, Room 4
" My name is Sarah Miles. I feel so blessed to be a part of the staff at Yorba Linda United Methodist Church Preschool. I have been assisting in all classrooms and have truly enjoyed meeting and working with all of your wonderful children. I am a mother myself, I have an amazing 11 year old daughter, Olivia who attended YLUMCPS years ago. I fell in love with the school then, and continue to now. It's amazing to see how much the school has grown! "
Sarah has her Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Phoenix and will be pursuing a M.A. in Elementary School Psychology at Cal State Fullerton.
Sarah enjoys spending time with her daughter, family, and her 3 beloved dogs.

Kelley Ward, Lead Teacher / Toddler Room 1 and Afternoon Supervising Teacher
Kelly Ward joined YLUMCPS staff in June 2014 and has 9 years in Early Childhood Education. She has completed all required coursework in Early Childhood Education and continues to further her education.
She and her husband have been married for 13 years and have three children, ages 13. 9 and 6. They also have 2 dogs.
Kelly feels that every believer is called to live so in the power of indwelling spirit that he will not fulfill the light of flesh but will bear fruit to the glory of God. She loves working at YLUMCPS because all the staff is amazing and the parents and children are so special.
Zaidy Ortiz, Room 5
Zaidy Ortiz cannot imagine herself doing anything other than teaching. She is currently studying Early Childhood Education and she joined YLUMCPS in 2017. Miss Zaidy wants everyone to know that joining the team at YLUMCPS has been the biggest blessing!
Whitney Bras, Administration Assistant
Whitney Bras joined YLUMCPS in November of 2017. She has a background in non-profit organization work for children with special needs. She and her family are long term residents of Yorba Linda and her daughter has been attending the preschool for the last 2 years. As an active member of the community, Whitney couldn't be more happy to find herself working at the preschool.

Christy Scott, Preppy K & Kindergarten Teacher Room 2
Christy Scott joined the staff at YLUMCPS in September 2014 with 20+ years working in the field of Early Childhood Education. She has an A.A. in Early Childhood Education from Fullerton College. Christy also holds certifications in Curriculum and Administration & Supervision from Pensacola Christian College and further certifications in Traits of Writing and Special Education Instruction.
She has lived and taught in Yorba Linda for over 20 years. Christy says she has 2 great kids and is a dog lover. She also loves to cook and to be outside and says she is blessed with lots of friends and family.
“I love Jesus”, Christy says and that the Lord has blessed her. She is grateful to serve Him and that God is her rock and through Him and His Grace, she lives an abundant life.
Christy says she had always heard what a great school YLUMCPS was and now feels so blessed to be starting her 3rd year at such an amazing school. God is Good! “I am excited to be a part of this wonderful school and amazing staff” Christy says and that she looks forward to watching her students grow spiritually, academically and socially.
Brian Long, Pastor
Rev. Brian Long was born and raised in Rhode Island. From an early age he has been actively involved in the United Methodist Church as a pastor’s kid. At the age of 14, Brian gave his life to Christ while on a mission trip to the British Virgin Islands. While attending Ithaca College in New York he began working with A Christian Ministry in the National Parks (ACMNP) and served for five years in various national parks around the United States. While serving with ACMNP, he received his call to ministry. In 2001, Brian moved to California to attend Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena. He graduated in 2006 with a M.Div. in theology. Brian began serving UMCWV as the Director of Youth Ministries in November 2003. In 2008, he became the Associate Pastorof the United Methodist Church of Westlake Village, as he continued to work with youth until 2011. His hope in ministry is for people to ” become fully committed to daily living out their relationship with God through Jesus.” His passions in ministry are missions, discipleship and looking at the larger church impact in this world. In June 2011, Brian was ordained as an Elder in Full Connection in the Cal-Pac Annual Conference.
